St Olaf Tavern is always pretty solid. Pictured is the regular 8oz. They have a larger 16oz. for $3 more. The 8oz was more than I needed. House breaded onion rings are a 10. Tenderloin was a solid effort as well.

If you’re ever wandering through northeast Iowa, do yourself a favor and stop at St. Olaf Tavern home to one of the most amazing Breaded Pork Tenderloins I’ve ever had. This thing is a classic Midwest masterpiece: golden-brown, hand-breaded perfection that hangs well beyond the bun. The crust is super crisp, the pork tender and juicy, and the flavor just nails that perfect balance of salt and crunch. Topped simply with pickles and onions and served on a soft bun, it’s everything a true BPT lover could want no gimmicks, just honest, old-school flavor done right. And those onion rings on the side? Unreal. Light, crunchy, and seasoned perfectly they might just steal a bite or two of the spotlight. Pair it all with a cold beer and you’ve got the kind of small-town Iowa experience that makes you want to plan a road trip back before you even leave. Simply amazing. This one easily ranks among the Midwest’s best.
