About American Table Family Restaurant
American Table Family Restaurant in Princeton, Indiana opens at 6:00 AM seven days a week, which tells you something about who it serves — and its breaded pork tenderloin sandwich in Gibson County has built the kind of reputation that makes tenderloin hunters from across southwestern Indiana make the trip specifically for lunch.
The jumbo tenderloin here is a serious piece of work: moist, well-seasoned, with perfectly crispy breading that stays right where it should, all served on a buttered and toasted bun with mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onion. It comes as a platter with two sides for around $11.99, and it's large enough for two sandwiches — one reviewer had it open-faced smothered in creamy white gravy, which apparently works. The German fries are excellent. The peaches come from a can. The Beef Manhattan — a classic Indiana comfort food plate — gets called out as a must-try for the table member who isn't feeling a tenderloin.
The service at American Table is a specific selling point: reviewers name the waitstaff directly and describe the kind of attentive, genuinely friendly service that's increasingly rare and increasingly valued. The family-friendly atmosphere and generous portions have made it a Gibson County institution with a following that extends well beyond Princeton.
Princeton sits in Gibson County in southwestern Indiana, about 25 miles north of Evansville on US-41. For anyone routing through southwestern Indiana — or making a dedicated tenderloin run through the Wabash River corridor — American Table Family Restaurant at 1730 W Broadway St in Princeton is the kind of place that rewards the detour. Go for the tenderloin, stay for the Beef Manhattan.

Incredible tenderloin and German fries plenty for two meals! And if someone in your group isn’t in the mood for tenderloin (hard to imagine, I know!), we highly recommend their Beef Manhattan. Our waitress was absolutely top-notch one of the best we’ve ever had.

Open-faced with creamy white gravy! Great alternative to the traditional BPT sandwich. My wife had the traditional sandwich and it was wonderful!

Very good tenderloin. This is on the larger size bun. I think it was $11.99 for the platter with the BPT and 2 sides.

The jumbo tenderloin was moist, well-seasoned, and perfectly crispy on the outside. The breading stayed right where it should, and the buttered, toasted bun was a nice touch. This tenderloin is big enough to make two sandwiches and comes topped with mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onion. I ordered the plate, which includes two sides. My granddaughter enjoyed the cottage cheese, and I had some of the American fries (they were okay). Overall, an excellent meal. I’ll definitely be getting the tenderloin again!

Really great BPT! The meal came with two sides and I went with peaches and sweet potato fries. The fries were excellent but the peaches were the canned kind so good, but nothing to write home about.
