We've been in Indiana for 9 years and still haven't tried a tenderloin sandwich until today. The Tenderloin Tuesday marketing reached us, and we searched for a well-reviewed spot, which landed us at Plump's. We had a charming, relaxed, unpretentious lunch on the patio. The tenderloin did not disappoint. They had a half-tenderloin sandwich special, but we opted for the whole sandwich at the regular price. The onion rings and fish and chips were also good. And our drinks were nice and strong. Broadripple restaurants often feel overpriced to me, cashing in on the cuteness of the neighborhood. But Plump's felt like a steal for the amount of food, attentive service, strong drinks, and beautiful outdoor seating. If you need a midday mini vacation, this is a chill spot to take one.

I had to circle the block to find parking but then I went inside and ordered at the bar, walked outside and sat down with an ice-cold local beer and enjoyed the sunshine 73F weather. Plump's is located in the broadripple section of Indy where they turned the Monon train tracks into a trail, and from my seat I could watch the people walk and bike right by. You could spend an entire day in broadripple eating and drinking and then eating ice cream and drinking coffee. A real fun place. Now for the Tenderloin. I now have a new all time favorite. It was probably the thickest one that I've had but it was still hand pounded and was not a pork chop pretending to be a tenderloin. perfect breading to meat ratio. Great seasoning in the breading and it was all firmly attached. You could get it with any condiments that you could imagine, I went with my standard pickles, onion and lettuce on the side and didn't need to add any of them. Bonus points: they make their own dill pickles. I don't see what they could have done better, (other than making it an all you could eat special, but then I would still be eating and not typing this).

The tenderloins were big and tasty. They were a little bit thin for my taste. The onion rings were really good and the toppings included some great homemade pickle slices. $13 for the sandwich with chips. It was good, but not as good as some other nearby locations like the Pawn Shop Pub and others.
