About Pawn Shop Pub
Pawn Shop Pub at 2222 E 54th Street in Indianapolis, Indiana sits in the same Broad Ripple neighborhood as Plump's Last Shot, and tenderloin enthusiasts who've done the comparison have a debate on their hands. The BPT here runs under $8 for a sandwich big enough to generate legitimate leftovers — and the loaded versions push it into genuinely exciting territory.
The standard breaded pork tenderloin at Pawn Shop Pub is large, buttered-and-grilled-bun, fresh vegetables, priced at around $8 for the sandwich alone. The loaded versions are where this kitchen shows its personality: the Double Bacon Cheese runs $9 before the onion ring upgrade, and the Buffalo Cheddar Bacon Blue Cheese version has been called one of the best loaded tenderloins in the state — super tender, perfectly breaded at the right thickness, crispy without being heavy, easily enough for two big sandwiches. The onion rings get mentioned in every loaded tenderloin review as a top-5 contender on their own. One reviewer described $27 covering two large tenderloins with fries, slaw, and two soft drinks as unbelievable value. It is.
The pub itself is casual, welcoming, and exactly what a neighborhood Indy bar should be. The vibe is comfortable rather than loud, and the kitchen clearly takes the menu seriously beyond just the tenderloin — the burger and chicken wrap both draw praise from people who ordered them instead.
For anyone working the Indianapolis tenderloin circuit or visiting Broad Ripple and wondering where to eat, Pawn Shop Pub on 54th Street deserves serious consideration. It's the kind of place a reviewer mentions when asked where else to go after visiting Plump's — and that's exactly the right context for it.

My first “loaded” BPT, and wow this one set the bar high! I ordered the Buffalo Cheddar Bacon Blue Cheese version and it was incredible. The tenderloin was super tender and juicy with amazing flavor and perfect thickness. The breading complemented it beautifully... crisp but not heavy. Easily enough for two big sandwiches! And those onion rings? Absolutely amazing easily a Top 5 contender. The service was impeccable and the pub itself had a comfortable and welcoming vibe that made the experience even better. 100% worth it. We’ll definitely be going back!

The Big Buffalo. Buffalo sauce, blue cheese, and bacon. Had them hold the cheddar cheese. Sounds odd but its really tasty. Onion rings are good too.

First time here…In Indy for the Big 10 Championship. I ordered the double bacon cheese tenderloin. Wow….$9, plus an extra couple of bucks upgrade from house chips to house-made onion rings. Once again…wow!

BPT was good at lunch, and even better the next day as leftovers! Buttered and grilled bun, fresh veggies, but the fries were undercooked. $27 for two big tenderloins with FF, slaw, and two soft drinks is unbelievable!!
