If you’re hunting for a solid tenderloin south of Indy, Bar 31 should be on your radar. This one’s got that old-school Hoosier charm no frills, just good food and cold drinks. The tenderloin here is a hand-breaded beauty, fried to a perfect golden crisp. The breading has that crunchy, craggy texture you want in every bite. Flavorful, slightly peppery, and clinging tight to a juicy, tender pork loin inside. It’s not paper-thin like some spots either; you actually get a nice, meaty bite. The bun’s soft and lightly toasted, holding everything together with fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion stacked on top. It comes with a side of chips. The sandwich holds its own simple, satisfying, and cooked right. Bar 31 doesn’t try to overcomplicate it they just do it right. Bottom line: it’s exactly what you’d hope to find at a local Indy bar crispy tenderloin, cold beer, good folks, and no pretense.
