The tenderloin was very good. Crispy, good flavor. The bun was buttered in a garlic butter that was too much garlic for my personal taste, but I could see how others would really enjoy it. Still worth a try. I will be trying again without the bun being buttered.

The tenderloin was good and the size was great. However, this was the most disappointing experience as the place was pretty dirty and smelled of smoke. In fairness, it was later on a Friday evening so maybe it was busy earlier and the waitress was tired but even getting our water refilled was a problem. I'm not one to be negative especially when I know the wait staff at restaurants work very hard and it's a tough business. If anyone can talk me off the ledge on this place, I'm all ears. I can remain open minded, but for now, I can't recommend it to anyone unless maybe it's to go.

I have a new #1! My longtime champion the Gnaw Bone breaded tenderloin has been my top pick for nearly 20 years but has officially been replaced by… The Pour House near DeMotte, IN. I’m in northern Indiana for a couple of days and originally planned to try One Eyed Jack’s but they were closed. I remembered seeing good things about Pour House and decided to give it a shot. So glad I did b/c it was fantastic.The pork was pristine white meat not overly thick but incredibly moist and meaty. The breading was wonderfully crispy and full of flavor. Served on a fresh bun with good fries on the side, though let’s be honest it’s all about the meat. Bonus: $2 drafts on Sundays so my sandwich, fries, and two beers were only about $20. The staff and the locals were super friendly adding to the whole experience. If you’re traveling on I-65 in northern Indiana, The Pour House couldn’t be easier to find as it’s right at the intersection with IN-10. There are still a lot of highly rated spots I haven’t visited yet, but as of today, this one takes the crown.
