About Hoosier Bar & Grill
Hoosier Bar & Grill in Bloomington, Indiana is one of those places where a tenderloin ordered "Manhattan style" — fork-tender pork, mashed potatoes, gravy — changes the way you think about the sandwich. One reviewer described it that way and said it would change your life. I'm not going to argue with that.
The standard breaded pork tenderloin sandwich at Hoosier Bar & Grill is lightly breaded, well-seasoned, and large enough for two people to share — or to stretch into two or three meals if you take some home. The preparation is measured: not pounded paper-thin, not a thick chop, but proportioned carefully with a thickness that reviewers consistently praise. The beer-battered fries have built their own following. The Reuben draws comparisons to New York deli-style. The coleslaw is creamy and peppery. The menu runs wide enough that a table with mixed preferences can all eat well.
Hoosier Bar & Grill is west of downtown Bloomington on Richland Plaza Drive, open Monday through Saturday and closed Sunday. The Friday and Saturday late-night hours — open until 1:00 AM — make it a natural stop for Indiana University game days and late evenings in Monroe County.
For anyone in Bloomington looking for a serious pork tenderloin sandwich in Indiana's college-town capital, Hoosier Bar & Grill at 4645 W Richland Plaza Dr covers all the right ground. The Manhattan-style version is worth ordering at least once.

$10 yesterday. $1 upgrade for rings. Regularly $15. Excellent. Rings lacked integrity, disintegrating upon application of utensils or teeth. Next time I will request a plate. The basket wanted to tump over, the paper got soggy and disintegrated, leaving a mess of particles and ketchup on the table. I nearly had a panic attack when Whitney started bellowing "I will always love you" whereupon I asked the waitress if she had latitude. "What would you like?" Something good, I replied. She fiddled with the remote control. Classic rock ensued. Yet Whitney's words still resonate in my auditory cortex.

Tenderloin has a perfect thickness, great seasoning, and it’s big enough to make two or even three meals. Always a solid choice!

I ordered it “manhattan style” (I was feeling comfort food on this cold blustery evening) and my gf ordered a Reuben. Let’s just say, both were PHENOMENAL including the sides! The BPT was fork-tender, lightly breaded and full of flavor! The mashed potatoes and gravy were the perfect accompaniment! If you’ve never had a BPT this way, you have to try it….it’ll change your life! The coleslaw was creamy and peppery! The Reuben was piled high with meat, cheese, and sauerkraut and dripping with Thousand Island, tasted like it was straight from a NY deli! The fries were crispy on the outside, yet fluffy on the inside. If you’re in the area, stop in and have one, you won’t be disappointed!
