A tremendous experience. The atmosphere is designed for hunters in a lodge with lots of fancy but rustic woodwork. They have a very large selection of bourbon. Flights for beer and bourbon available. We showed up mid-afternoon to try the BPT. We ended up getting the alligator bites for $16 and hand-breaded mushrooms for $12.50. The BPT and homemade chips we $13.99. You could get chip or fries and from what I saw at other tables the fries looked amazing... they pile them high! The BPT was handmade. High marks for crunch, breading seasoning, quality bun that was toasted, high-quality condiments, meat flavor, and meat juiciness. I always order condiments on the side, including mayo, but as much as I love pickles, I only ate a few bites of the onion with the BPT because it tasted so amazing. It was BPT perfection. Not too salty or seasoned but so perfectly seasoned you don't want to obscure the BPT awesomeness with the bun or condiments. The service was exceptional. This was my first time there and it won't be the last. We live two hours away but this is well worth a much longer drive. It had perfect thickness...I like them thicker and will pass on thin BPT. I am guessing it weighed in at around 9 ounces. And it was plenty for my sweetheart and me to share. Highly recommend. I would rate this one higher than Rustic Oak in Hannibal, Buffords, and Floyd 104...the combination of flavor and crunch and thickness still has me on a BPT high. Those other places are still amazing, though.
