This spot has that perfect old-school vibe: classic diner trays, frosty mugs of root beer, and tenderloins that hang over the bun. They get their pork from Polancic’s in Ottawa then hand-bread each one in-house. The breading and pork could use a touch more seasoning if you’re eating it plain, but once you load it up with toppings (and maybe a little salt), it really comes together. The homemade root beer deserves its own shoutout... cold, creamy, and downright nostalgic. The onion rings were crisp, golden, and not greasy. And honestly, you can’t beat the value here feeding a family of seven with dessert for $85 (plus tip) is almost unheard of these days. If you’re looking for a family-friendly spot with great prices, good food, and a side of classic Midwest charm, The Rootbeer Stand is worth the stop.
