For eight bucks, you get a homemade tenderloin and a side... not a bad deal at all. The toppings were solid: crisp lettuce, subtle dill pickles (not much snap, though), juicy tomatoes, and paper-thin onions that were almost juicy themselves hard to describe, but they added a nice touch. Plenty of toppings overall, and while the ketchup and mustard were nothing fancy, they did the job. The bun was nicely toasted, simple but fine. Now for the tenderloin itself… that poor thing didn’t stand a chance. The breading had great flavor with a nice mix of large and small cracker crumbs, crunchy and tasty after I added a little salt and pepper. But the loin was pounded way too thin, like “crime scene” thin. In some spots, it was literally all breading with no meat underneath. The thickest part might’ve hit 1/4 inch, but most of it was closer to 1/8 inch or less. Unsurprisingly, it was dry, even in the thicker spots. The breading was cooked perfectly crisp and golden but the meat itself was just overworked. For my side, I went with tater tots (because why wouldn’t you?). First bite great crunch outside but the inside was dry and completely unsalted. Even after seasoning, it didn’t improve much. Service, though, was fantastic quick, friendly, and welcoming. I’ve eaten here before and enjoyed their chicken wings and fried chicken, which are both excellent. But the tenderloin? Not their strong suit. If they hadn’t pounded it into submission, this could’ve been a really decent sandwich.
